Q: What motors will fit in a 1994 Subaru Impreza FWD? preferably a twin turbo motor. Would like a number like EJ?
I bought a 1994 Subaru Impreza, a week or so ago. Motor has like 110 horse and Iam a young guy in high school and this is no where near enough. So I heard on the internet that if you change out the cross member you can drop in a different motor. What I want to know is what motor with the highest stock horse power will drop in with the right cross member. I found a EJ20 I think with a twin turbo on it on ebay, Iam not sure if this will mate with my trans plus fit in the engine bay. The car is front wheel drive and has a EJ18 motor in it now I think. Iam not really familar with Subarus so any help would be great.
A: If you think thats not enough power then you really dont need it. All you are going to do is go do something idiotic and get yourself or someone else killed. You said your in high school and a young guy. So do the math. Young guy+high school friends+weekend driving+high HP car = one really bad mess.

Ok I am just wondering because I know if you were to get a wrx that your insurance would go up. But if I was to get a STOCK subaru impreza non turbo, and put a aftermarket turbo on it without it being turbocharged from the factory would my insurance go up?
A: If the insurance doesn't know that it has turbo, then will not charge you extra. Not mentioning it is better than lying! So add it in later and don't mention it to them!

I took apart and cleaned throughout my1994 Subaru Impreza's manual starter motor.
I put it back on my car, all I got when I tried to start my car was
Pop, pop, pop sound
and the car sounded like it was trying to start but didn't kick in.
Is this definately just the the starter motor at fault? If I replace it then my car will start good??
A: if its doing something now that it wasn't doing before, chances are that its something that you did. take it to an auto sparky.

A: New Evo is a tad bit faster because there is no turbo lag unlike the STI. 0-60 = 4.6 for EVO
0-60= 5.0 for STI
just for the heck of it 0-60= 5.4 R32
All cars are for 09 model except for R32 which is limited run of 5000 for 2008 model year.

Q: What would I need to purchase to turbo my '99 Subaru Impreza GX?
I want to put a turbo on my '99 Subaru Impreza GX, but I have no idea where to start in regards to what parts I would need to buy.
I am in Australia, so If you could tell me where I could buy/import the parts as well, i would be extremly greatfull.

A: There are a lot of engine modifications that usually need to be done to ensure your engine will be able to handle the added power of a turbocharger. Your best bet is to go to your local car performance shop and ask them. But if there aren't any around, my suggestion would be to look into getting an entire Turbo Kit. These kits usually include everything you need to run a turbo except for an exhuast system. good luck... PS... another suggestion would to swap your engine with a Subaru WRX STi engine. Your impreza i believe weighs less that the STi, so that engine in your car would make it even quicker than the WRX. And it seems like a big job, but cost-wise it would not be too much more than an entire turbo kit.

I need some explanation between a Subaru Impreza, WRX, and an STi. And does the tail of the car have anything to do with it?
A: Impreza is the base model, the Impreza WRX is a high performance turbocharged version, and the Impreza WRX STi is the highest performance version with more power than the WRX plus 6 speed and bigger brakes among other things.
The tail of the car? You probably don't mean the current models. Imprezas usually came without a wing or one as an option, same as the WRX. The STi came with a giant wing on the decklid.
Q: How do you replace the Headlight bulb in a 2000 subaru impreza?
I wanted to changed my headlights to white lights in my 2000 Subaru Impreza RS but i don't know how. I unplug the power to the bulb but cant get the bulb itself out of the light mount. I can touch the three prongs where you plug the power into but it won't budge. Do i have to take the whole light housing out? Give me instructions please-
A: The rubber thing is covering the clips. Pull the rubber off and you'll find the clips under it.
